Hi all -
Our server seems to have run into a bit of a permissions problem. Somehow
or another the permissions got messed up for some of the basic IIS and
ColdFusion users (not sure how as of yet). Whenever I request any page (not
necessarily ColdFusion), I get the following error:
HTTP Error 401.3 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to an ACL set on the
requested resource.
Internet Information Services (IIS)
Permissions error -- simple to fix right? So I check out the file in
question's permissions (in this case, a test index.html file):
Internet Guest Account ({domain}\IUSR_{machineName})
Full Control: Allow
Modify: Allow
Read & Execute: Allow
Read: Allow
Write: Allow
SYSTEM
Full Control: Allow
Modify: Allow
Read & Execute: Allow
Read: Allow
Write: Allow
So there's got to be some other user (or file/folder?) that needs to have
it's permissions looked at. It doesn't seem to be a problem with the IUSR
account -- if I disable the JRUN_iis6_wildcard.dll Application Extension
Mapping, IIS will serve up straight HTML pages just fine. But as soon as CF
starts entering the chain, we get the 401.3 error.
Any ideas? I've been poking around permissions for a while now, and I'm at
my wits end :)
Thanks!
Jonathon
