I don't think that is possible via a web browser. Web browsers send their
emails to SMTP servers which do not understand the Lotus Notes way of addressing
email.
What we do here is send email to the SMTP mail server and format the email using
the internet addressing scheme: [EMAIL PROTECTED], this works well for us.

Has anyone sucessfully sent email on a LAN using Notes via a web browser (and
not using Domino)? I can do a mailto:Gina M. Shillitani/CHASE@CHASE if the
workstation's browser is set to use Notes as the mailer, but I can't use
mailto:Gina M. Shillitani/CHASE@CHASE?subject=Some subject&body=Some text
because Notes ignores everything after the ?. Also, if the workstation's browser
is not set to use Notes, then I can't send it at all, since most of the
employees do not have internet email, only LAN mail with addressing as noted
above. I don't want to use Domino if I can possibly help it. Does anyone know of
a workaround for using Notes mail on the LAN? Or of a way to test for the email
program the browser is using? ... any suggestions appreciated.
