Folks, Puzzled about this error message. ColdFusion 7.02/Std on Windows 2003/Web connecting to a different machine running MSSQL2000/Std on Windows 20003/Std. Rebooted everything after months of being fine and getting a timeout error
The error message from the runtime log is SQLException while attempting to connect: java.sql.SQLException: [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]A problem occurred when attempting to contact the server (Server returned: Connection reset). Please ensure that the server parameters passed to the driver are correct and that the server is running. Also ensure that the maximum number of connections have not been exceeded for this server. [Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver]A problem occurred when attempting to contact the server (Server returned: Connection reset) What's weird is this happens on three different VMWare machines running on the same server as the db (this is in a dev environment). I do know that the host machine, which also runs the db, was upgraded to SP2 for Windows 2003 server. Other CF boxes (eg developer machines) and MSSQL tools can connect fine, but not any of the virtual machines.
