Actually, you don't need to use the directory watcher. The directory
watcher is just a specialised scheduler: every 60 seconds it runs and
looks for new files and calls your cfc with the name of the new file.

You can do the same thing with a scheduled job that runs every 60 seconds.

In my case, when I successfully processed a file, i rename/move it.
That way I, the next time it's run, all files that somehow didn't get
processed get processed.

I know that's a bit simplistic, but that's in essence what needs to be
done. You can manage the known issues with ftp'ing large files and
networked filesystems your own way as you know your situation the
best..
