Ahh - because that's not what I sent. I wonder if it didn't get mucked 
with in transition.

<(.|\n)+?>, or more spelled out to be safe,

LTsymbol - left parenthesis - period - pipe - backslash - lowercase n - 
right parenthesis - plus sign - question mark - GTsymbol

in case it gets mucked in transition again. :)
