I will agree with Tom on this one,

I started using both CS and ModelGlue a while back, and at first didn't
really 'get' what all the fuss was about, and didn't really bother getting
in to it THAT deeply.

However, after a short break from it, once I'd adopted a bit more OO
knowledge I went back to both of these frameworks and fell in love, they are
incredibly powerful tools and once you learn to use them, and more
importantly 'Trust' them, you will see the benefits.

Auto wiring is a prime example of where trust can become an issue,
relinquishing that control of injecting your own dependencies is really
hard, but once you trust ColdSpring to do it for you, it really is quite
incredible.

I think that might be the rub right there.
With CS, you don't have to remember to do anything. With autowiring (for
instance) you just write a setThingINeed() method, and CS will sort out
finding and setting up a ThingINeed CFC for you. If you work in a team, or
reuse other projects/peoples components, this is really handy.

In the CS world, the order you define them in the config file, and the
details
of the creation order, dependencies etc. are all done for you by the
BeanFactory. This should save you time and work, esp. if your dependencies
change.

you've not yet had any of the problems it trys to solve...
