<CFSET thisMonth=mid(get.enddate,5,2)>
<CFSET thisDay=mid(get.enddate,8,2)>

Contract will expire on: #thisMonth#/#thisday#/#thisYear#

Displays as: 11/4/2007

you can either build a real date object from date using createDate() or if 
you're simply going to display it:

#thisMonth#-#thisDay#-#thisYear# or whatever.
