DING DING DING DING! WE HAVE A WINNER! Dave - during my Coldfusion 8 upgrade, I apparently lost all my CFIDE mappings because those directories didn't exist anymore. I never noticed because I accessed the administrator via the main IP address and port numbers for each instance.
