Let's get Hash() out of the way since this is not for storing password... If I want to encrypt some sensitive data, should I use Encrypt() func in CF or use the built-in column based encryption by MS SQL 05? From the preliminary research on google, using MS-SQL 05 will eliminate storing the KEY in CFC/CFM, which to me sounds much safer.
Any comment on this? Which method do you prefer? Any one has experience with encrypting data using MS-SQL 05?
