I'm a bit torn on this myself - not just for tabs, but in general. But
consider this:

cflayout makes it super easy to have remote content for tabs and have
tabs that reload on view.

spry I think degrades nicer if JS is turned off, and has slimmer JS
downloads than CF8 right now.

Not a great answer for sure - just some things to think about.
