Do you have your own cfm license? That will play some part in the decision.
I have had 3 vps server and they were ok, certainly better than shared but just recently moved to a big dedicated box and there is just no comparison IMO. But then again I got a pretty good setup and its more that 3x what you want to pay monthly but it's definitely worth it. (hms) I see Jim has recommended a ct, personally I think they are a bunch of idiots over there. A friend of mine has a ded box there and it's a nightmare. As a quick example, he had me write him some cf code and he put it on there but couldnt get it to run because he put it outside the webroot and didnt know how to make virtual mapping. He called ct tech support and they said they could do it and charged him $175 to do it but then called back and said they would need to re-install cfm to get it right and they would charge his cc $460 more to do that. I told him to call HMS and tell them what the deal is and ask if they would help him and of course they did and 3 minutes later he was good to go even though he wasnt a hms clients. Anyways, I would say it's just like a shared server.. you get what you pay for. You can get the bigger cfm vps at hms for around $189. maybe Wilber will pitch in as he just switched from ct to one of those at hms. > I am looking for a good VPS or Dedicated CF host.
