I'm reading through Programming Flex by Joey Latoun and I have to say, I don't like it much at all. I'm a complete beginner at Flex and by chapter 4 they were already deep into the technical aspects of Flex. I just don't think that it's written well at all. It makes me want to return it and get my money back.

I doubt you'll find any Flex 2 book that has any significant CF stuff, because there isn't all that much to say about CF in a Flex book. Any Flex 2 book will cover the basics of AS3. There are a couple of books about AS3 available now from O'Reilly.
