I would think so, yes.

I have no idea what goes on in the crazy world of shared hosting, and I
don't want to know. I do know that, generally, security is not the highest
priority in a shared hosting environment. I think that the presumption is,
if you're using shared hosting, security is not all that important to you.
If it is, you should probably reconsider what you're doing.
