Andy, try changing your cfdocument tag to the following:
<cfdoucument fontembed="no" format="pdf"> </cfdocument> I know that when I first started using cfdocument, I had to do this when using CSS on the page that was creating the PDF. Of course the resultant PDF doesn't have the same 'look', but you might find that it has something to do with Fontembed.
