I am at the point where about half my client base is now on CF8, and i need to upgrade my development PC. I still have a significant base using CF7 though, so I need to stay in touch with that version.
Are there any 'gotchas' with having CF7 and CF8 present on the same machine? I kind of had the idea that i'd be able to set the CF version to match the project i'm working on at the present. So when i'm working on client A, i'd be using CF8 and when working on client B i'd use CF7. Therefore i was thinking of installing CF8 into a separate folder. or even its own HDD. My web server is apache My databases are MSSQLServer2005 and MySQL OS on this machine is WinXPPro Is that practical? The alternative is to upgrade and use CF8 all the time, and just remember not to use any of hte new features on the projects where the client still uses CF7. -- Cheers Mike Kear Windsor, NSW, Australia Adobe Certified Advanced ColdFusion Developer AFP Webworks http://afpwebworks.com ColdFusion, PHP, ASP, ASP.NET hosting from AUD$15/month ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Get the answers you are looking for on the ColdFusion Labs Forum direct from active programmers and developers. http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/webforums/forum/categories.cfm?forumid-72&catid=648 Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/message.cfm/messageid:294486 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/CF-Talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=11502.10531.4
