I don't know if they have any data for India, but Salary.com is where I
get that sort of information. They have a survey you answer a series of
questions about your education & experience and they give you back
some info about what people with comparable edu/exp are earning in a
given area, since it varies between the various major cities. Last time
I checked was for salaries in Portland OR, which is where I am now. The
info they give back gives you a bell curve if I remember correctly,
showing where the average falls and where the high and low ends are.
