As long as the service account has permissions for the mailbox, then it
should work. 


In Exchange System Manager, open the Administrative Groups folder.
Then, right-click the administrative group you wish to manage.  You may
have only one.

Select "Delegate Control..."

Add a new user, then give it the least amount of permissions necessary.
Most likely, you will have to give it a role of "Exchange
Administrator".

Wait a while for the permissions to propogate.  It could be minutes or
it could be hours, depending on the number of mailboxes.

Then, you should be able to access all mailboxes using that new user.
