I may be out of the loop, but I have some recollection of the sounds
used to represent animals being different across languages... So I
wonder if this would work well for a site where many of the visitors are
international, i.e. if a french guy is visiting my site I think he might
expect the duck to say "coin" (le canard dit coin), leading to some
possible confusion in that he may or may not interpret the english
pronunciation of "quack" as being similar. Having tried it yourself you
might be a better judge if my guess is correct, though I wonder if you
would know if someone failed to figure it out? :P
I just picked French because it's what I took in school, before I
realized it was you. I know your name is French or at least appears of
French origin to me -- though I have no clue if you speak it in spite of
having seen you around plenty. :)
