FIXED!!!! It required userPrincipalName (retrieved from the first CFLDAP query using the cn as the username) for the username on the second query. Wow - what a nightmare. But my app works and the client is happy, so all's well that ends well. Thank you all very very much - I wouldn't have made it thru without your support.
