I just wanted to pass on some interesting findings. We have been attempting to run both .NET and CF8 on a 64-bit Windows 2003 server. It is not working out too well.
So far, it turns out that .NET will only run in 64-bit mode IIS on this server. It also turns out the CF8 will only currently run in 32-bit mode on IIS 6. Therefore, they are incompatible. You can run one or the other, but not both. We are thinking about running a VM with CF8 only, but then we need to buy another OS license for the virtual server; and, I am wary about running a first time Windows virtual server in production mode.
