Hey All,

Anyone out there really familiar with IIS on Win2003 Server and
Application Pools? Out network guy setup a couple of new servers for
one of our clients and created an application pool for each site
(about 120 sites and thus 120 pools) on each box.

All my research into Application Pools (now know as APs) suggests they
have little or no effect on websites that are primarily html or cfm
based. APs seem to be designed for locking down ASP and ASPX sites.

My question is this, we're seeing really bad performance problems on
both boxes where under very little sites are intermittently crashing
or not delivering all of their content and need to have their
application pool restarted. I've never had a problem like this.

"Do any of you actually use and suggest that people use the IIS APs?"
And if so, why, how many and any little tricks or tips on their
configuration would be greatly appreciated.
