That's not his Fusebox ad. I announced a few weeks back that I'd be starting
to take text based ads on the list to generate some money to pay for new
additions. While waiting for ads to come in (and getting someone to hunt
them down) I decided to start them off with one for the Fusebox book. This
is both a test and a 'starter' for people to see what's happening. A few
things that have come from this:
1. The ad should have a message saying "Paid Advertisement" over it.
2. An automatic parser will remove all extra ads from replies.
3. As part of the automatic parser, all HTML based mail and attachments will
be cleaned out of a message.
4. A news server is being finished to copy ALL the lists onto.
5. New lists are coming.
6. Archives will be available going back years.
There's more to do and more features partially done. The ad revenue will be
going to these features as well as someone to take the posts and write
summaries and a FAQ. Its a big job and hiring a professional to do it is the
best idea. Just a matter of time. :)
