The problem if it is not a mapping problem as aforementioned is that you are 
probably making the simple mistake that javascript is case sensitive meanwhile 
coldfusion is not. The solution to the problem was using Coldfusion with a 
lowercase 'f' instead of  ColdFusion with a capital 'F'. Sorry, for reopening a 
thread for such a simple fix. Hopefully it helps someone out as I am sure that 
may be a mistake others make when working with the ajax features.
