Is the pooling not smart enough to go looking for a connection that already uses those credentials? If it is smart enough, how would this be a bad thing? Unless you have a really high traffic site? Not looking to be a wise ass here, just expressing curiosity as this is bound to come up here (at work) in the future. I've not really kept track of how many sessions the system maintains across our various applications.
