Jason, I have co-located in the past and currently do in 2 different datacenters here in town and I also lease a couple of servers at The Planet.
Depending on your budget it might be best to get something local but you become the support guy 90% of the time which may or may not be a good thing. I don't know if I would co-locate in another city unless I had a large support package and servers that they could work on. The servers I have at The Planet I lease and it is like $250 a month per server. I get full access to it and can do whatever with it. THe nice part is that if anything goes wrong they are on it and are really good about anything hardware related. It takes a huge weight off my shoulders not to have to worry about all that. As far as the colocation at SunGard in Nashville we pay like $2000 a month for a full cabinet and various add-ons. J.J.
