It could be a bunch of stuff: 1. Your mail server may not exist (not likely) 2. You may need to pass credentials to your mail server (legitimate username and password) 3. The timeout may be too short, just get rid of it for testing.
Do you have access to the webserver where CF is running? If so, log in and check the mail spool to make sure that the email is being generated and is getting to the spool. The spool is here: CFUSIONFOLDER\Mail\Spool There is also a folder is files undeliverable emails named Undelivr It is possible your CF server isnt sending any email, check and see if there is a bunch built up in there. If you have access to the CF Administrator, log in and enable Mail Logging. Then try it a bunch and check the Mail log files to see if an error is being generated.
