Well, for the sake of closure for everyone on the edge of their seats watching this thread with baited breath, I went ahead and filed a bug with Adobe this morning for the wayward behavior of cfhttp.
*collective sigh of relief* I would give you the bug number-- but well, they have a closed bug database. I guess we'll see if they agreed with me or not when Centaur comes out.
