I would. Based on your last post, your jrun.jar file isn't even there, so you obviously don't have a full installation. I would check the downloaded file size as Ian pointed out. Then, if you can confirm you have a good download, go ahead and uninstall. Then remove all the coldfusion directories. I don't know if it's just c:\ColdFusion8 or not, maybe someone more familiar with 8 could pipe up on that one. There might be some registry entries to remove as well.
