hi, am struggling with string manipilation! please help. i have a folder full of files all beginning with a certain prefix then the name of the file is a date + an auto-generated number. eg tesFil_2008090210.txt, tesFil_2008090210.xls, tesFil2008090210.doc
As u can see the above files have the same name but different extension. The folder I am working with has a lot of these files but will different names, i need to group the files with the same name and copy them to a different folder. How do I get the file names?
