Speak from strength.
How much do your efforts increase your companies revenues? Remind them what you are
worth.
This is why a salesperson can make a lot more money than a programmer with much more
skills and experience. Because it is easy for the salesperson to specifically point
out the amount of revenue they have brought the company, and their salary seems small
in comparison.
How much do others with similar skills in similar industries make? If it's more then
you make remind them of that as well.
And be prepared if you don't get what you want to go elsewhere.
