Barney... I've got the SVN repo explorer view open, I can select both branches, but I don't see a "compare" command on my right click menu. I've got the following:

In the SVN Repository view (probably on the SVN Repository Exploring perspective, unless you've changed it), CTRL-select both branches, right click, select "compare". I don't know that SVNAnt supports the diff command - I've never had need to use it in an automation scenario.
