IMHO kickassvps.com offers the best bang for the buck I have seen to date in that price range (however cloud hosting is starting to look very attractive).
Hosting is a lot like the old adage for pricing projects. Your options: Fast, Good or Cheap. Pick two. EX: If the service is inexpensive and you get a lot of features, customer service and support sucks, etc. With kickassvps.com I somehow got lots of features, great service and a great price. They have a free external fire wall which is a godsend. BTW, Virtuozzo totally rocks. You can totally hose your box (not recommended) and restore it from back up in a couple of minutes. Free daily backups to boot. I split it with a buddy so we have a server for $17.50/mo each. I have also heard very good things about viviotech. From what I have seen, my impression is that Jordan is a real stand up guy. G!
