I was actually just reading that a while ago, great article.  More 
specifically we're seeing some requests that will appear to complete but 
the thread will stay open for 30-40 seconds before it finally closes 
out.  FusionReactor shows them there in the "running requests" screen 
with no stack trace available (jvm reports it as finished).  Very odd. 
Occasionally there will be enough of those "hung" threads that they eat 
up the maximum thread count and CF up and dies (not good).  Our 
monitoring system kicks in and restarts it, but I'd rather avoid them in 
the first place, so we're looking at the JVM and the JVM settings to see 
if that can be improved.  Yea performance tuning!
