The biggest issue I have with COM/.NET is the interface to WMI, direct access to Windows subsystem functionality. Since CF runs under the local system account I believe this would be a big concern. I could configure CF to run under a seperate account with less permissions, but I also don't want to get into a mess with assigning permissions to resources CF needs access to. If anyone has any guidelines for doing this on CF to make maintenance easier as well as secure the installation, I'm all ears!
Thanks for the tip on the Java classes Mark. Makes sense. Also, the thought had crossed me mind to create a separate instance of CF for each web. I fear this would be terribly resource intensive, and probably be difficult to automate. Anyone have input on this? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Adobe® ColdFusion® 8 software 8 is the most important and dramatic release to date Get the Free Trial http://ad.doubleclick.net/clk;207172674;29440083;f Archive: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/message.cfm/messageid:320656 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/groups/cf-talk/subscribe.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.4
