I'll bite. a) Disadvantages over what?
b) It's a server product, so it works in the same space as ASP. It has some features that do work via JavaScript. It can work with flat files, databases and other data sources. c) CF can work with MySQL if you like. It can also use Oracle, MSSQL and other databsaes.
