Don't know about what sandboxing did to your server as I have never had 
to use sandbox security on a ColdFusion server.  I suspect you somehow 
sandboxed your server in such a way that it no longer has permissions to 
be a ColdFusion server.

But I use <cfftp...> all the time, so that should answer the question 
that NO sandboxing has nothing to do with using <cfftp...> other then 
that sandboxes could easily be used to no allow <cfftp...> if that was 
desired.
