How many tables and fields do you have to import? This is easy to do from a
CF template. Just read from one db and do inserts/updates into the other.
Doing it in CF, you can get as creative as you need -- just one simple
example: if a field was incorrectly defined as text in the original db and
you need to convert it to numeric, you can replace with zero's wherever you
find NULL's or empty strings.
