No need to apologize, but vague questions tend to get vague answers.
There are plenty of mechanisms for load balancing, using either
hardware or software solutions. You're looking for something that lets
you balance web servers, not application servers. If you're using
Windows and IIS, some versions of Windows Server include
software-based load balancing. If you're using some other environment,
it may or may not include software-based load balancing.

In any case, without CF Enterprise, you won't be able to provide
session failover. But you can use any standard load balancing stuff to
provide simple load balancing no matter what application server you're
using.
