That assumption is completely wrong. Custom tag attributes, like everything else in your CF code, is not sent to HTTP clients. The Verity spider is just another HTTP client. I would expect that the Verity spider will use the HTML TITLE element for your page title - is that different from what you're passing to the custom tag?
