Thanks for responding.
Another thing I forgot to mention is that when I run the procedure in SQL 
Server directly it runs without error.

Also, and this is sporadic.

When I run the stored proc in coldfusion by itself, by doing an Exec statment 
in a CFQuery.  Sometimes it runs without error.
