Hi, Rob...and thanks for the reply.

I never could get the dump to work in my original attempt.

The PDF with a form that I was trying to read was a PDF created
by importing a Word doc created by a client. I created some form fields
for some of the blanks in the doc (a rental application). I think CF was
having trouble processing the original PDF (even without the new fields).

I created a simple PDF inside Nitro PDF Pro and was successful in dumping
the form schema and then filling in the form fields, saving the doc as a
new PDF and opening that with the fields still filled with the entered data.

So, it looks like Nitro PDF ($99...much better price than Acrobat at $299!)
will work. But I'm unhappy with the PDF creation tools it has (drawing
graphics, especially)
so I'm looking for another solution.

About to try out Foxit Phantom ($129) and see if the PDF creation tools
when starting a brand new PDF are any better. Hope Foxit Phantom's features
are better than the spelling on their website and documentation!

I'll report back what I experience.

Rick

I've had the tags working with forms Created with Acrobat, not just
LiveCycle, but can't say that I've tried a third party PDF Creator.

Can you read and dump the PDF form Fields?
