Sometimes the archives get a little behind in displaying posts. On the other hand, the rss feeds for each list will always show the latest messages so you can always check that to see if your post has gone through.
The problem is that when using gmail, their software prevents you from getting a copy of an email that you send to a list (a 'feature' I dislike).
