I am running cf 4.5 on sun os 5.7... everything seems to be running fine
until I access a particular page... it uses cffile, cfdirectory, and other
display tags... nothing big... quite simple actually... I've deleted the
file and cut the code back into it thinking that the file may be corrupt...
same.
this is what is happening:
- site appears normal on all other pages through cfstudio and RDS
- web appears normal in application
- upon viewing the form with a browser then studio doesn't save changes to
the server any longer, and if I try to open the project again I get errors.
- when trying to stop the server I get 'INFO: cfexec is not running.', when
I try to start it I get 'ERROR: Unable to start the ColdFusion processes.
Cause: The ColdFusion registry does not appear to be initialized.
You can execute the following command to initialize the registry:
cfexec -install <cfdir> -docroot <docdir> -register <id> -user <cfuser>'
obviously there is some strange problem going on here... any ideas? By the
way, how do I know what the register <id> is? If I issue the above command
(w/o register, everything works fine until I view that page with the browser
again??? what on earth could it be??
