I'm afraid I'll have to agree with Dave. STOP ARGUING WITH HIM! You'll
never win!

Also kidding.

But I just looked at my ColdFusion 9 Developer Edition on my Windows XP
workstation I'm writing this from. It really looks like it must be
something strange with your system.

Server Product ColdFusion
Version 9,0,0,251028
Edition Developer
Serial Number Developer
Operating System Windows XP
OS Version 5.1
Adobe Driver Version 4.0 (Build 0005)

  Data & Services > Verity K2 Server

You can install and configure the Verity K2 search service on a host
other than the one on which ColdFusion is running. In this case, you can
configure the host that ColdFusion uses when performing search
operations. If you have purchased the Verity K2 Enterprise product, you
may need to configure the aliases, ports and login information of the
services that ColdFusion uses. Click the Advanced button to configure
these values. You should not need to change the advanced values if you
are running with the ColdFusion-installed version of Verity.

Configure Verity K2 Server
Verity Host Name: localhost
