I remember two black Friday's ago HP and MS Live did a 40% off promotion. They linked from Live.com (now Bing) into HP's website though a promotion link. This wasn't heavily advertised I think partially b/c MS and HP didn't want to sell millions of these specials. Anyhow when this launched at 10am EST it just about crapped out all the way until 8pm when the promo "ended". It wasn't clear if it was MS or HP that had the issue but you would believe these two companies would be able to handle a promotions traffic.
