You're on a 64 bit version of CF? If so, it won't work... ever. Check out http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403277.html#_Toc193176418, wherein Adobe flat out states there is no COM support for 64 bit architecture... at least for CF8. There doesn't seem to be any reason why this shouldn't hold true for CF9 as well.
