For obvious security reasons, you generally can't make things happen on a client's machine from the web server. You can provide suggestions to the client (such as the proper disposition of content) but that's it. If you need programs to automatically open, etc, you need client-side functionality (ActiveX, Java, AIR, etc) to make that happen.
