Jeff,
Connecting to Pervasive can sometimes be, well, interesting. You've got to
be very careful about .dll mismatches between the client, ODBC in this case,
and the server engine. I'd recommend running the CLEANUP utility from
Pervasive -- it does a really good job of removing all remnants of the
software from your client and server -- much more reliable than doing an
uninstall. Now reinstall the client and server components and make sure you
are at SP5 on both boxes. I've got one Win2k CF server communicating with 2
Win2k Pervasive 7.5 servers and the system works well.
If you need the cleanup utility, let me know and I can email it to you
direct.
Regards,
Chris

Subject: Pervasive 7 ODBC from Win2k Server
We are having difficulty connecting to our Pervasive SQL 7 server from a
Windows 2000 Server box. We have successfully configure and tested this on
a Win NT 4 server using CF, however we are unable to make it work on Win2k.
Using Pervasive ODBC Driver 2.54.xxx (Pervasive 7 SP5).
A simple SELECT query returns:
ODBC Error Code = S1000 (General error)
[Pervasive Software][ODBC Interface][Pervasive Software SQL Engine]General
error.
Any help or info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Jeff
