I didn't say it was BAd Jordan, I would not be stupid enough to say that as
it is clearly a very popular and well used RDBMS.
However most people just use the free edition of MySQL because it is free
and are not even aware that there is a free edition of SQL server too called
SQL Server express.
I would encourage anyone to try out both rather than take mine or anyone
else word for it.
Just to backup my previous comment though, in many years of running both, we
have very rarely had any SQL Server issues, however I cannot say the same
about MySQL. We have have numerous customers with corrupted MySQL databases,
this has never happened on any MSSQL server. A single mysql database can
also easily cane the server and cause 100% cpu usage and cause it to become
unresponsive, never had such an issue on MSSQL.
So take form that what you will.
