A possibility - but I don't know anyone who could reliably get (and hear and 
read) a text at, say, 3:00 am 365 days a year.

Though.. Now that I think about it.. Have you considered having someone get a 
text message and they then call the police? That may be a cheaper way to do it 
(and more clear when the police get the 911 call).
